Split Lighting
Artist Reflection: 1. The best shot of this assignment is the short lighting. It's the best because the light source was natural, the sun, and it made taking the picture more efficient. 2. The butterfly lighting was the weakest of the shot because the lighting wasn't as accurate and the shadow under the nose isn't as noticeable. 3. For future shots, the light source needs to be correctly placed, to portray the shadows that make up the butterfly lighting. 4. I used photoshop to edit all my portraits. I used color balance, light levels, contrast, along with black and white. 5. I was able to take a light source, and create the different shadows with my subjects to create the different types of portraits. 6. Getting my subjects to turn their heads to match the right lighting technique was fairly easy. 7. Adjusting the light source correctly was more difficult. 8. If I were to do this assignment again, I would use a natural light source, (the sun) to take the pictures smoothly. 9. I would rate my effort an 8. If I took my time to adjust the light source correctly, some of the more difficult portraits would look more accurate.
